The Ruhpoldinger forest railroad - A hike in the footsteps of the past.

  • 8.00€

In the period from 1922 to 1940, the railroad between Ruhpolding and Reit im Winkl was primarily used to transport wood from Seegatterl - but the forestry workers also used it as a means of transport to their - sometimes remote - places of work.

Passing monuments, along the rippling river "Traun", the hike then ends at the lumberjack museum. There you can take a look at the new exhibition, which clarifies the connections once again.

The hike is unfortunately not possible in English language

The bus takes you back to the village at 12:29 or 14:13 - Optional is the visit of the museum

Good shoes required, hiking poles if necessary, drink & snack

Registration in advance at the Tourist Info, by phone 08663 8806-0 or by email: tourismus@ruhpolding.de - limited number of participants
