Together with the historian of the Ruhpolding Historical Club, Thomas Siegel, you will go in search of the old routes of the former Ruhpoldinger forest railroad, called "Ruhpolding Waldbahn". During the hike you will learn a lot of interesting facts about its function and its high economic importance for Ruhpolding.
In the period from 1922 to 1940, the railroad between Ruhpolding and Reit im Winkl was primarily used to transport wood from Seegatterl - but the forestry workers also used it as a means of transport to their - sometimes remote - places of work.
Passing monuments, along the rippling river "Traun", the hike then ends at the lumberjack museum. There you can take a look at the new exhibition, which clarifies the connections once again.
The hike is unfortunately not possible in English language
The bus takes you back to the village at 12:29 or 14:13 - Optional is the visit of the museum
